MEET CHINA WATSON
A passionate advocate for positivity, personal growth, and well-being, China Watson brings over 20 years of HR expertise to the table. As a Regional Vice President of Human Resources, she has dedicated her career to helping individuals reach their fullest potential in both their professional and personal lives.
With an undergraduate degree in Finance from North Carolina A&T State University (Aggie Pride!) and an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources Management, China’s lifelong commitment to learning fuels her mission to inspire others.
Known for her intuitive ability to read and understand people, China is dedicated to building champions—whether in the corporate workplace or among friends and family. Since 2010, she’s been lighting up social media with uplifting quotes and affirmations, encouraging everyone to stop asking "Who do you think you are?" and start answering that question with absolute confidence.

JOURNEY
My journey to becoming an author has been quite a roller coaster. It has been full of personal growth, experimentation, and a genuine desire to inspire others. I’ve always loved writing much better than speaking—whether it was writing case study papers for my MBA or expressing my thoughts through poems and journaling.
But writing a whole book felt like a completely different ballgame! I started off feeling a bit lost, experimenting with four different book ideas before finally landing on "Who Do You Think You Are?". I even wrote 40 pages on a different concept before realizing I needed to pivot and create something that could genuinely change how people see themselves.

"I wanted to ensure that people had the mindset of positivity and empower others to recognize their worth and potential."
I decided on a unique format: a quick and easy read where each chapter is a mini-story that starts and ends with a thought-provoking quote. I wanted to give readers practical tools—affirmations they could use to rewrite their internal narrative and reflection sections to record insights that resonate.
Writing this book has been both challenging and liberating. It’s allowed me to dive deep into my own journey while creating something I truly hope will resonate with many.
WHY I WRITE
This book came from a personal place. Like many of you, I’ve had challenges, doubts, and days when everything felt overwhelming. Journaling was my safe space to remind myself that I was capable of more than I believed.
I wrote this book for anyone who has ever felt stuck or questioned their worth. It’s about believing in yourself, pushing through obstacles, and recognizing that you already have what it takes to succeed.

INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STORY

One of my favorite characters to write was Jaiyana. Her journey represents a reflection of my own struggles with the transformative power of overcoming adversity.
Facing significant challenges—including health scares during the uncertainty of COVID—acted as a wake-up call for Jaiyana, forcing her to reevaluate what truly mattered. Similar to her, I've learned that facing difficulties head-on can lead to profound personal transformation.
